Olympic torch relay |

A very enjoyable (but sometimes cold) day at the Joe Carmody Athletics Track. Congratulations to all children who participated well in the activities for the day, especially our choir who looked and sounded great on stage.
Thanks to all parents for their support at the torch relay.

CONCERT RECITAL TICKETS |
Children in all grades are busy practising their performances a this very moment. We believe that this type of experience will be invaluable in building on the children’s self confidence and self esteem.

Children will be notified of the date and time they will be performing at a later date.

A final reminder that next week is BOOKWEEK. On Tuesday 15th August guest storyteller – Hendre Roelink will be in the school.
Book Week Dress-Up Parade is on Friday 18th August. As the theme for Book Week is
‘ On the Edge of Tomorrow’, all students have been encouraged to dress-up as a character from the future, the past or as their favourite book character.
Parents are welcome to watch the parade at 9.00am.
Also during this week we will be launching the story writing competition. All students will be invited to take part in writing and illustrating a children’s Picture Story Book. More information on this later.

The sports club |
The Sports Club is to develop the full potential of our local athletes. To achieve this goal the club will hold quality training sessions conducted by top coaches and players in the Latrobe Valley. The club will host numerous sports clinics, events and activities. Members will have free access to all such planned functions. The Sports Club will have a registration day Saturday August 12, 2000. Children may register on the day between 9.00am and 3.00pm.
